Renato Balestra

Renato Balestra is an Italian fashion designer. He was born in early 1930s in Trieste, Italy in a family of architects and engineers. From early age, he enjoyed art, paining and music but studied for a degree in civil engineering. At his last year of studies, he began to design dresses as a hobby. His first design was a result of a bet made among friends. His friend secretly sent the design result to a fashion designer in Milan in 1950.
