Andy Warhol, was an American painter, printmaker and filmmaker famous for being a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. He was born as Andrew Warhola in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Andy Warhol Museum exists in memory of his life and artwork in his hometown. His first steps in the career were those of a commercial illustrator in the beginning of the 1960s, but what brought him worldwide fame was for his work as a painter, avant-garde filmmaker, record producer, author, and member of highly diverse social circles.
